About
The Stirling Engine was a hands on project for Thayer's thermodynamics course. It gave us the opportunity to spend several hours a week in the machine shop learning important skills.
We learned how to look at drawings for each part and manufacture them using CNC mills and lathes. Not only did we walk away with proficiency on the machines, we were able to see how the concepts from our class were applied on something we built ourselves.
Testing
The clip on the left shows the stirling engine being tested.
By the end of the course, I had developed proficiency on the machines and was able to see how the concepts from my thermodynamics class were applied in something I built myself.
